A U.S. leader in providing solutions for national security, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., announced April 10 that it received an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract worth as much as $86.4 million.
The money will go to the San Diego-based company for training analysis and technology-based training development services for the Naval Education & Training Command (NETC).
The contract will allow the NETC to develop innovative web-based training, serious gaming, desktop simulation and social learning solutions.
“This award validates the trust our NETC customers place in Kratos’ ability to assist them in leveraging the myriad of new and advanced training technologies available today,” said Phil Carrai, President of Kratos Technology and training Solutions.
Carrai said it would allow the company to “offer training solutions to new customers across the Navy’s surface combat systems, submarine operations, naval engineering, naval intelligence and cyber security domains.
The company is a national security provider offering engineering, manufacturing and system integration for National Security platforms and programs. It focuses on “command, control communications, computing, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, satellite assurance, critical infrastructure security and weapons systems sustainment.”
The people on its work force have backgrounds in engineering and various technologies. About 4,000 employees work for Kratos. Many of the company’s workers have a National Security clearance. This includes Secret, Top Secret, and higher. Most of its customers are agencies in the U.S. government including the “Department of Defense, classified agencies, intelligence agencies and Homeland Security related agencies.”
